Google Analytics sets the only cookies on this site, and it sets them once you turn analytical cookies on in the banner.
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser.
The cookies we set
Google Analytics sets a couple of cookies, and only once you turn analytical cookies on in the banner. They tell visitors apart and keep track of a single visit, using a random ID rather than anything that names you.
They're set to last up to two years, though browsers cut that shorter in practice, with Chrome capping them at about 400 days and Safari at about 7 days.
Google Analytics also records events such as scrolling, clicks to other sites, file downloads and form interactions. Those are events rather than extra cookies.
Where your cookie choice is stored
Our banner remembers your choice in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. It only stores the choice you made.
The three categories in the banner
- Necessary. Always on. It covers the record of your cookie choices.
- Analytical. Off unless you turn it on. This is Google Analytics.
- Marketing. Off unless you turn it on. These would cover advertising and measuring how ad campaigns perform.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use the link in the footer of any page to turn a category on or off. Switching analytical off withdraws your consent, and Google Analytics stops setting cookies. Clearing your browser's stored site data also resets the choice, so the banner comes back.
