Malaysia: passport and entry requirements
Malaysia lets UK families in for a holiday without a visa, with up to 90 days for tourism. There's one bit of free admin to do first, an online arrival card for every traveller, and each passport needs six months left on it.

Your passport
Each passport has to be valid for at least six months after the day you arrive, with no pages missing or torn. That's counted from your arrival, not your flight home, so a passport with only a little time left can still fall short at immigration.
Check everyone's passports when you book. A child's passport is renewed more often than an adult's, so it's the likeliest in the family to be short, and a replacement takes several weeks to come through.
Getting in
British visitors enter as tourists without a visa and are given up to 90 days, so there's nothing to apply for. That covers everyone in the family in their own right, children as well as adults.
Before you fly, each traveller has to submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card, or MDAC, an online form. Airlines can check it at check-in, so fill it in for the whole family within the three days before you arrive. It's one submission per person, each with their own passport details, and there's no fee.
Every child needs their own passport, from birth, valid as long as the adults'. Each one also needs an arrival card of their own, submitted with their own passport details.
