Oman: passport and entry requirements
Oman lets UK visitors in without a visa for up to 14 days, so a two-week holiday needs little more than passports with six months' validity left. A longer stay means an eVisa arranged online first.
Your passport
Every passport needs at least six months left after the day you arrive, counted from your arrival date rather than your return, so leave a clear margin on the dates.
A child's passport comes up for renewal more often than an adult's, so it's the one most likely to be short. Look at the whole family's early enough to renew any that are running low.
Getting in
UK tourists enter without a visa and stay up to 14 days, so a trip that length needs nothing arranged in advance. Each traveller is covered in their own right, and your children need no separate application. This is a recent change, and older guidance about buying an eVisa for every visit no longer applies to a short stay.
Have a return or onward ticket, proof of where you're staying and travel health insurance ready at immigration, as officers ask to see them. Keep your dates inside the 14 days, because overstaying carries a daily fine.
Every child needs their own passport, whatever their age, valid as long as the adults'. The 14-day visa-free entry covers each of them too.
Staying longer than 14 days
A trip past 14 days needs an eVisa, which is a visa you apply for online before you travel through the official Royal Oman Police portal. Every member of the family needs their own.
