Qatar: passport and entry requirements
Qatar gives holders of a full British Citizen passport a free entry waiver when they land, good for 30 days. Sort six months' validity on every passport before you fly and there's nothing else to arrange.

Your passport
Each passport needs at least six months left from the day you arrive. It's your arrival date that counts, so a passport with only a few months on it when you get home still falls short on the way in.
A child's passport comes up for renewal more often than an adult's, so check everyone's when you book and there's time to sort a short one before you fly.
Getting in
On a full British Citizen passport you don't arrange anything in advance. You're given a free visa waiver at the airport when you arrive, and it lets you stay up to 30 days. Everyone travelling is covered on their own passport, so there's no separate application for your children.
Staying beyond 30 days means extending the waiver through Qatar's Ministry of Interior before it runs out, and overstaying brings a fine. A different British passport type, or travel for something other than a holiday, needs a visa arranged in advance. GOV.UK's Qatar entry page has the detail for a less standard case.
Every child needs their own passport, from birth, meeting the same rule. Each one gets their own free waiver on arrival, so there's nothing to apply for on their behalf before you travel.
