Tunisia: passport and entry requirements
Tunisia is visa-free for UK families, and each passport only needs to stay valid for the length of your trip. Keep your hotel booking to hand for the border.

Each passport only needs to stay valid for the duration of your stay. Check that every passport covers your return, and that none is damaged, since a torn or water-damaged one can hold you up on the way out.
If you're travelling with children, give each passport a look when you book, because a child's can run out sooner than you'd expect.
Getting in
UK tourists can visit without a visa for up to 90 days, which covers a package holiday comfortably. Nothing needs arranging online before you fly, and each traveller is covered on their own passport, children included.
Keep your hotel booking somewhere easy to reach when you land, such as on your phone. Border officers ask some visitors to show proof of where they're staying, and a few travellers have been delayed or turned away for not having it. Get your passport stamped on arrival as well, since a missing stamp can cause trouble when you leave.
Every child needs their own passport, whatever their age, valid as long as the adults'. The visa-free entry covers each of them, and there are no separate documentation rules for children.
A tourist tax at the hotel
Tunisia charges a nightly tourist tax that your hotel collects rather than the border. It runs to 8 Tunisian dinars a person a night in a 3-star hotel and 12 in a 4 or 5-star, a couple of pounds a night, and it's capped at ten nights however long you stay (last checked August 2026). Keep a little cash aside to settle it at the hotel.
