British Airways plans to restart its Heathrow to Dubai flights on 3 November 2026, according to a statement the airline gave to Khaleej Times. It will start with one flight a day over the winter, rising to two a day in summer 2027.

Flights to Abu Dhabi stay suspended until winter 2027-28. BA said it was keeping its Middle East schedule under review and contacting customers whose bookings are affected.

For families, a 3 November restart comes just after the October half-term, so it doesn’t help that week. It does put a daily direct BA flight back on sale for the Christmas holidays and February half-term, both busy times for winter sun in Dubai. Families with BA bookings to Abu Dhabi should hear from the airline about their options.

The restart is a plan rather than a guarantee. The Foreign Office hasn’t advised against travel to the UAE, but its advice still warns of strikes and retaliatory attacks by Iran across the region since 8 July 2026, and says flights can be cancelled and airspace closed at short notice. Families booking Dubai for the coming months should check that advice and their flight shortly before they travel, and make sure their insurance covers disruption.
